The following is a LinkedIn Article written by Kit Westropp, Managing Principal at Euclid Transactional.

Deal activity across EMEA and APAC transactional risk markets continued at pace in Q1 2026, building on the strong momentum Euclid Transactional established through 2025.

Traditionally a quieter part of the year, Q1 nevertheless saw submission volumes remain above 2025 levels, even against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty and broader market volatility. In a fast‑moving deal environment, brokers and clients continue to prioritise responsive underwriting, clear positioning on key terms, and policies that perform when claims arise.

Here’s what stood out:

  • In Q1 2026, Euclid Transactional received 1151 EMEA and APAC W&I submissions, our highest Q1 on record, up 8% from 2025.
  • We bound 114 policies in Q4 2025, a 14% increase year over year.
  • Our APAC region continued to expand, with submissions up 33% versus Q1 2025.
  • Q1 submissions increased materially in Military & Defence (+450%), Entertainment & Media (+145%), and Hospitality (+120%), while declining in Telecoms (-38%) and Infrastructure (-37%).
  • AI‑related deal activity is gaining momentum again – after a post‑2021 slowdown, AI‑enabled businesses are re‑entering the M&A pipeline in greater numbers and are expected to feature more prominently in 2026.

Euclid released its 2025 Global RWI Claims Study earlier this year, covering the twelve‑month period ended 30 June 2025, during which we paid $314 million in claims globally, our busiest 12‑month period on record. Within EMEA and APAC alone, we have now incurred nearly $200 million of losses, reinforcing our focus on delivering a fair, efficient claims process and underwriting discipline that supports long‑term sustainability.

Pricing remains a key conversation. We continue to advocate for sustainable rates on line that reflect the true risk being underwritten, enabling the service standards and claims outcomes our brokers and clients expect.
